Useful Grammar Tidbit - Fit for Modeling
Submitted by ecluschei on Thu, 07/31/2008 - 13:28While reviewing papers over the last several years I finally figured out (and thought I would pass along):
(1) Modeling is the US English spelling of the UK English word "Modelling"
(2) For US English, the past tense of "fit" is "fit" whereas in UK English it is "fitted" - As in "we fitted the model parameters to the data" vs "we fit the...".
Useful Trivia of the Day - Curriculum Vitae

While it is appropriate to write either curriculum vitae or just vita, it is incorrect to use the phrase curriculum vita, the form vitae being the genitive of vita. The plural of curriculum vitae is curricula vitae. (from Wikipedia)
